We’re looking for a Founding iOS Engineer to take a core role in building a brand-new native iOS application from the ground up in the hospitality/consumer tech space.
This is a true zero-to-one opportunity — the current mobile experience is built with cross-platform technology, and this role will lead the creation of a fully native iOS app. The environment is fast-moving and ambiguous, so we’re looking for someone who thrives on ownership, product thinking, and high engineering standards.
Team:
You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Backend, Data, and leadership, with strong influence across product and technical decisions. Over time, you’ll help shape and grow the iOS function.
What professional skills are important for us?
— 5+ years of experience building production-level iOS applications with a strong focus on consumer-facing products.
— Deep expertise in Swift and modern iOS development practices.
— Proven experience building polished, high-quality native mobile experiences.
— Strong architectural thinking; experience owning or influencing app architecture decisions.
— Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguous problem spaces.
— Strong product instincts and attention to detail.
— Experience collaborating with backend teams on APIs and data contracts.
— Solid understanding of performance optimization, scalability, and app quality.
Tasks:
— Own the iOS application end-to-end, including key user flows such as search, discovery, booking, account management, and post-booking experiences.
— Build and scale a native iOS codebase from scratch (architecture, state management, networking, testing, CI/CD, releases).
— Partner closely with Product and Design to deliver intuitive, high-quality user experiences.
— Define and drive mobile product strategy and how mobile differentiates from web.
— Collaborate with backend teams to design efficient and resilient APIs.
— Ensure high performance and reliability (startup time, navigation, rendering, offline capabilities, stability).
— Implement analytics and observability to support product iteration and engineering improvements.
— Establish best practices for long-term scalability of the mobile platform.
— Contribute to building the iOS team and engineering culture over time.
